Kang Min-ho Wins All-Star MVP Trophy

Congratulations to Kang Min-ho, the catchers for the Lotte Giants who earned the title of the most valuable player (MVP) of the Korea Baseball Organization's (KBO) All-Star game, Saturday!

Kang was the designated catcher of Dream All-Star, comprised of the Samsung Lions, SK Wyverns, Doosan Bears, KT Wiz and the Giants, and went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs (run batted in) and 1 run.

He hit home runs in the top of the 2nd inning against the NC Dinos pitcher Eric Hacker against the Nanum All-Star team consisting of the Nexen Heroes, LG Twins, Kia Tigers, Hanwha Eagles and the Dinos.

Kang was supposed to get only one at-bat as he was suffering from thigh injury but batted two more times until being replaced with the Bears catcher Yang Eui-ji in the bottom of the sixth inning.

 Kang helped his team achieve a 6-3 victory and also won the MVP voting when he received 26 from 43 baseball reporters. This is Kang's first All-Star MVP title. With Kang being awarded, the Giants earned high marks for producing 15 MVPs in the KBO's 34-year-old history. As prize money, Kang received a car from Kia Motor's.

Kang winning the MVP award made many fans happy according to several Korean sports betting sites as many of them had placed a bet on him winning the award.

Floyd Mayweather Will Reportedly Be Stripped of One of His Titles

According to sources, Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. is to be stripped of his WBO 147 lbs. championship title belt on Monday.

Yes, that is the belt that he won from  Manny Pacquiao and the reason behind it according to the WBO is because he is not complying with the organization's rules. 

According to the World Boxing Association, the reason is because he was to vacate the WBA and WBO 154 lbs. belts for the 147 lbs. title.

Floyd Joy Mayweather who is an American professional boxer with an undefeated career as a professional box and holds five-division world champion, eleven world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes.  Maybe not for long as he is suppose to be stripped of the WBO 147 lbs. championship belt on Monday.

Even if he is stripped of one of his many belts, he is probably more worried about finishing his boxing career with an undefeated record.

Park Chan-Ho, the Korean ex-MLB pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates may be retired from the Major leagues but he continues to make headline with his charity work.

Baseball League in South Korea Update their Foreign Players Clause

On Tuesday, the top baseball leagues in South Korea changed it’s foreign players contract clause during Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) board meeting.


At the moment, if a foreign player in the KBO chose not to sign another contract with their original team once their contract expired, the team had the right to keep that player on for another two years.  The two year period had been lowered from five years back in January of 2015.

Today, the KBO is reverting back to the previous clause where the Korean team had the right to keep that player on for another five years if they choose not to renew the foreign player’s contract. The change will take effect after the ongoing season and will not apply retroactively.


Under the KBO rules, if a team does not make an offer to re-sign the foreign player, then the player becomes a free agent and is able to sign with any baseball club in Korea or other clubs around the world.


This clause gives the Korean baseball club an option to retain the player in case the foreign player does not want to renew a contract with his current club so that the team is able to keep them longer or give them an unconditional release.

The NBA Finals are right around the corner and every sports bettor in Korea is wondering who will win the 2015 NBA Finals.

Here is my NBA Finals Prediction

The NBA betting Point Spread for game 1 of the NBA finals currently has the Cavs as the underdog at +6 -110 and at  3.1 on the money line.  That right there is showing that korean handicappers as well as sports handicappers around the world are thinking that the Cleveland Cavaliers just don't have what it takes to win the NBA championship.
